How to check a clinic and practitioner licence in Macao
Macao’s Health Bureau provides separate searches for private healthcare units, care service locations and health professionals.
Short answer
Use the Macao Health Bureau’s register search to look up the facility, then use the health professional register for the individual practitioner. A facility permit and a personal professional licence are different records.
Search the facility and practitioner separately
Start with the location where care would take place. Compare the facility’s legal name, address, permit category and permit number in the Health Bureau’s private healthcare unit search. A group name or a nearby branch is not enough to establish that the exact site has the same record.
Then search for the practitioner by name and professional category. A facility permit does not prove that a particular doctor holds a particular specialty credential. In the same way, a practitioner’s licence does not replace the facility’s permit.
Keep the source and date
Save the official result and note the search date. If the name is written differently, compare the address and permit number rather than assuming a brand name and legal entity are identical. If the official page does not display a field, record it as unknown and ask the provider or authority; do not fill in the gap by inference.
What the records do not prove
These records support the registration or licence information shown by the Health Bureau. They do not rate treatment quality, guarantee outcomes or establish patient reputation. This website also does not independently verify every practitioner or service listed in a provider’s marketing material.
